MEET JESSE
LEADERSHIP THAT WILL DELIVER RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
At the age of sixteen, while still attending Gwynn Park high school, he started his first job as a bus boy, and moved up from there. After graduation in 1978, he entered the United States Army. Earning an honorable discharge after three years of active duty, he reenlisted for a total of six years inactive service. During this time, he spent two years working in the South Louisiana oilfields. Feeling homesick, he returned to Maryland, marrying his high school sweetheart, Kathryn Jean Smith. Jesse has four children, and has been married thirty-seven years. Jesse owns and operates a small pool service company in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Being a private citizen and a small business owner provides Jesse with experience in understanding the challenges that confront Maryland’s citizens. After much consideration, he decided to become more active in the leadership of Maryland. He is a member of the Prince Georges County Republican Central Committee and is running for State Senate. As a State Senator, his priorities would be lowering taxes, reducing far-reaching regulations, eliminating wasteful spending, and producing an environment in which Maryland and all its citizens will flourish.
